Indonesian man makes 800km backward walk to protest deforestation

Bastoni left from Dono on July 18 and expects to reach the capital on August 17.

JAKARTA (Dunya News) – An Indonesian man walked 800 km in reverse direction from Java Island to capital Jakarta to record his protest to the president against deforestation near his house.

Medi Bastoni, 43, hoped to ask President Joko Widodo to give him a seed, to be planted in the forests on Mount to spread awareness about preserving nature.

Bastoni left from Dono on July 18 and expects to reach the capital on August 17.
