Newly discovered wasps able to hijack spider's brain
This new kind of wasp is named as Zatypota.
(Dunya News) – Interesting news from the world of parasites has been making the headlines with the discovery of such a wasp that can hijack the spider’s brain and make it do whatever the wasp wants.
According to the details, this wasp not only nourishes on the spider but also can hijack its brain and commands it to do different tasks.
The female wasp lays eggs on the spider which get stuck to it and as soon as larva comes out of the egg, it starts devouring the spider but the process doesn’t end here.
Larva stays on the spider even after growing bigger, it forces spider to leave its colony and move to a suitable place where it directs spider to build a cocoon-shaped incubation chamber.
When spider gets done with the task, the wasp larva devours spider and goes inside incubation chamber where it completes all cycles of the life to grow up as a mature wasp and then emerges out.
This new kind of wasp is named as “Zatypota”.
