Whenever Queen Elizabeth wants to move on from a conversation with someone during public meetings, she uses her handbag to send a covert signal to her staff. According to reports, she shifts her handbag from one hand to the other in such cases.

Also, she commonly puts the handbag on a table to tell the concerned people that she’s ready to leave the event and get going. The monarch would often twist her ring to show her staff that she wants to make an early exit from talking to someone.
