All windows devices would get the feature soon
(Web Desk) - Microsoft has unveiled a new feature called Generative Erase for its Photos app on Windows, allowing users to selectively remove objects from photos using AI.
This move puts Microsoft in the league with Google and Samsung, who have similar AI-powered photo editing capabilities. Unlike other platforms, Microsoft's offering will be available not just for Windows 11 but will also be backported to Windows 10, covering Arm64 devices as well.
The features, including background removal, are currently in testing with Windows Insiders and will be part of upcoming updates for Windows users.
However, it's not clear from Microsoft's announcement whether AI-edited photos will carry any distinctive metadata or watermarks. The tech firms are in the race to introduce innovative and creative AI tools to attract consumers and grow their businesses.
