Huawei unveiled its Mate 30 Series on Thursday, the worlds first second-generation 5G smartphone.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - It’s impossible to exclude Huawei technologies from any 5G application, said an expert in Washington D.C., the United States.

Adonis Hoffman, chairman of Business in the Public Interest, made the remarks during an interview with the China Global Television Network (CGTN) after China’s telecom giant Huawei unveiled its Mate 30 Series on Thursday, the world’s first second generation 5G smartphone in Munich, Germany.

According to Huawei, the new generation smartphone, which is equipped with all new Kirin 990 5G SoC processor and comes in six different colors, is the first to integrate processing units and a 5G modem on the same chip using the 7nm+ EUV (extreme ultra-violet) process.

Adonis Hoffman said:"Technology capabilities that Huawei has demonstrated over the years are well-known. I think you can ask any company and most consumers that are aware of Huawei products and capabilities of its technological superiorities," adding that Huawei’s dominance in the 5G technology has made it impossible to shut Huawei technologies out of 5G applications.

"We know also in 5G that Huawei has a great capability and it is one of the leading manufacturers and providers of 5G technology. Huawei’s technology is so, at this point, intertwined into 4G technology for example and, of course, 5G will build upon 4G so that it’s virtually, almost impossible, from what I’m told, to disaggregate Huawei technology from any 5G applications," said Hoffman.

In a separate CGTN interview, Zhang Tao, founding managing director of the DAO Ventures, said Thursday that Huawei reveals at a press conference its goal of repositioning itself by investing in the eco-system to boost its business in the future.

"I think the focus of this conference is Huawei want to reposition itself in a brave new world, so to speak. Basically, I think what Huawei is trying to do is to go beyond connectivity to become more like an eco-system builder integrated with a solution provider. I think one of the key things they announced at the conference is that over the next five years, they are going to invest 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in their developer program, five million developers and also 14,000 independent software vendors. So they want to invest in this eco-system so they can continue to do business in a significant way," said Zhang.
