Netizens back China's Huawei after US ban

BEIJING (Reuters) - Some Internet users have expressed their support for the Chinese tech giant Huawei, after it was banned by the U.S. government from cooperating with U.S. technology companies.
Many tweeters posted their opposition to the U.S. decision to put Huawei and its affiliates on an "Entity List" and restrict the sale or transfer of U.S. technologies to the company.
"We are still going to buy Huawei", "Huawei doesn t need Google, it s Google that needs Huawei," tweeters said.
Google will cut off its services for Huawei under the ban of the U.S. government, with a 90-day temporary reprieve. It will restrict Huawei s access to the Android operating system which is an integral part of Huawei smart phones and other mobile devices.
Responding to outside concerns, Huawei said that the company has been prepared for the U.S. restrictions since 2012, and that they are now deep into the development of their own mobile operating system which will be launched this fall at the earliest.
"I hope Huawei will give us something competitive to Google, it will be advantageous to us as customers," said a tweeter.
Some tweeted that the U.S. is attempting to curb the rapid development of the company which is obviously taking the lead in many technologies, including the 5G mobile network.
"If you can t beat them. Ban them," some tweeters wrote online to criticize the U.S. move.
Many said the U.S. ban will hurt businesses in its own country.
"[The U.S.] is showing China and the world that the U.S. government controls Google. Who can trust U.S. companies now?" some tweeters asked.
