The exhibition was aimed at opening new vistas for people seeking better opportunity for themselves. Participants from multiple universities were invited to share their ideas.
NED University Electrical Engineering got the first position for their idea of ‘Virtual Room’. The second position went to the same university for ‘Automo’ project, while IBA students grabbed the third position for the project ‘Go Spark’.
The first position holders; Taimur Tahir, Rabia Abdullah, Sarah Asif, Babar Zubairi and Muhammad Aqdas Baig, while explaining the idea of Virtual Room, said that its basic idea is that it is considered awkward to change dresses at a shopping mall or a shop when we go for shopping.
The presence of cameras in try rooms is also common. For this reason, a virtual room is the best for men and women. Under it, there is a screen in the room and a buyer could try any dress through the movement of his/her hands while standing before the screen. The students said that their product is less expensive as compared to virtual rooms across the world.
The first runner-up team; Araibullah, Ahsan Ansari, Murtaza Abbas, Shehroz Ali and Hamza Abbas also expressed jubilation at their victory.
Sharing their idea, they said that people usually forget about after putting their motors and generators on and our ‘Automo Setup’ can save energy. Through this service, you can turn off the machines at your homes from across the world.
They said that the price of automo service is only Rs30,000. Through it, you can play your role to save energy from anywhere in the world.
The third position holder IBA team members Daniyal Naeem, Anum Jahangir, Hamza Usman and Rafay Shahid said that ‘Go Spark’ is a mobile app which will collects data about people coming to a store, where they stood and for how long.
The app will also make possible the forwarding of favorite message and rejecting disliked messages. The app will be free for general consumers, while commercial consumers will have to subscribe to get the service. Its price has not been settled.
The students said that the app will be helpful in controlling theft in stores in future.
Dr Kamran Mumtaz, chairman of the Department of Management at IBA and Founder of Kaydrive, said it is a need of the modern age that the trend of personal business should be promoted among the youth instead of looking for a job to walk along with the fast-moving world.
“Educational institutions should also provide a platform capable of setting the direction of the youth aright besides being helpful for them practically,” he maintained.
At the end of the exhibition, IBA Dean Director Dr Farrukh Iqbal distributed shields among the participants.
