Summary WhatsApp users could now add emojis similar to those in iOS with the new update

(Web Desk) – WhatsApp has disregarded the emojis provided by Apple to its iOS users by launching its own set of new smileys that look similar to those accessed by its users of iOS.

With this update, over a billion users of WhatsApp around the world could use Apple-style emoticons in their conversations. This may also confuse the iOS users in deciding to use emojis while switching between the keyboards.

The new function, which is currently available in beta version, will be rolled out to users around the globe by WhatsApp. The instant messaging service platform has made several changes in its range of emoticons. Some of these updates include changing colour of water pistol, introducing double-yolked fried egg and symmetrical eyes of ghost face.

Tech experts opine that WhatsApp has decided to restrict its consumers while they use emojis. The new update will discourage users to insert emojis from third party keyboards.

The new update could also help inter-communication of emoticons between iOS and android users as the smileys often get changed when sent from one operating system to another. WhatsApp aims to diminish cross-platform communication confusion. It is expected that all three Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram will converge on their unique set of emoticons.
