Summary France's Davis Cup quarter-final tie against Britain will take place on clay in Rouen

PARIS (AFP) - France s Davis Cup quarter-final tie against Britain will take place on clay in Rouen, the French Tennis Federation (FFT) said.

France won 4-1 in Japan a couple of weeks ago to reach this stage while Britain triumphed 3-2 in Canada when Canadian teenager Denis Shapovalov forfeited the deciding rubber after firing a ball into the umpire s face.

The quarter-final tie, on a surface where Britain has rarely excelled, will take place from April 7-9. Britain last won the Davis Cup in 2015, a year after France were beaten in the final by Switzerland.

France have lost three finals since their last victory in 2001.
