The second day of the Dubai test proved a great day for the national side as first Pakistan bowled out the South Africans for 380 only after being 311/3 at the end of the first day and later the openers Taufeeq Umer and Muhammad Hafeez gave the national side a solid start. At the end of the second days play the score of the national side was 144 for the loss of two wickets. Earlier the South Africans could not face the devastating bowling of Umer Gul, rightly supported by Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rehman. Younas Khan had also to bowl so as to fill the gap created due to the injury of Wahab Riaz. Abdul Rehman and Umer Gul took three wickets each while Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz took two wickets each. After the dismissal of the South African team, the Pakistani openers gave the national side a solid start of 105 runs. Muhammad Hafeez made 60 runs while Taufeeq Umer managed 42 runs before returning to the pavilion. Azhar Ali is still on the crease with 12 runs to his credit while Younas Khan is playing on 21 runs. Pakistan is still trailing by 236 runs. On the other hand Wahab Riaz is out of the series after the injury.
