Summary Players turn hockey ground into battleground as PIA and WAPDA teams make it to the final

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – National Hockey Championship semi-final on Saturday turned into a battleground as National Bank and Pakistan International Airline (PIA) players drew out hockey sticks at each other. PIA and Wapda teams, however, made it to the final amid all this mess, reported Dunya News.

The game completely void of sportsman spirit saw hockey sticks drawn out and the playground turning into a battleground. The game was being played between PIA and National Bank teams. Although PIA won the game by 1 goal to nil but the game turned into war when both the teams turned against each other and started abusing. Many of the players even got injured in this ‘aggressive’ game.

Tournament Director Qamar Ibrahim has directed the jury to file a report regarding the incident and a ban on these players is expected. The decision about the punishment will be reached only after the report filed by the jury.

Meanwhile, Wapda defeated Army by 1 goal to nil in the other semi-final. PIA and Wapda will face each other in the final.
