Summary Raonic is seeking his seventh career title but first of 2015
SAINT PETERSBURG (AFP) - Canadian second seed Milos Raonic reached the final of the million-dollar ATP Saint Petersburg Open on Saturday with a straight-sets win over Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.
Raonic, who targets one of the remaining spots in the ATP World Tour finals in London in November, fired 17 aces to win 6-2, 7-6 (7/2) to advance into his season s second final.
"I m pleased with my performance," Raonic said.
"I started well. In the second set he (Bautista Agut) played much better but I m glad with how I managed to cope with this situation."
Raonic is seeking his seventh career title but first of 2015.
In Sunday s final, Raonic will face Joao Sousa of Portugal, who beat Austria s third seed Dominic Thiem 6-4, 7-6 (7/5) to earn a place in his third final of the season.
"I played a great match today," said seventh seed Sousa. "I served well and that was the key for my win."
