Formula One: Webber fastest in first practice session

RED Bull's Mark Webber was fastest in the first free practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix, ahead of title contenders Rubens Barrichello of Brawn GP and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull. Formula One championship leader Jenson Button was only seventh in his Brawn. Webber clocked 1 minute, 12.463 seconds at the 4.3-kilometer Interlagos track, 0.411 ahead of Barrichello and 0.469 in front of Vettel. Ferrari-bound Fernando Alonso topped the times for Renault in Friday's second free practice session ahead of Sunday's potentially decisive Brazilian Grand Prix. Alonso's quickest lap lifted him clear of second-placed Sebastien Buemi of Toro Rosso with local hero Rubens Barrichello of Brawn GP third as he begins his bid for a victory to boost his slim hopes of taking the drivers title. Australian Mark Webber was fourth fastest for Red Bull ahead of Barrichello's team-mate championship leader Jenson Button. Italian Jarno Trulli took sixth place for Toyota ahead of the third championship contender, Sebastian Vettel, in the second Red Bull.
