Younus Khan meets Ijaz Butt

An important meeting held between Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Younus Khan, resigned in the meeting of Standing Committee for Sports, and Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt on Thursday in Lahore. Younus laid some conditions to withdraw his resignation, reported Dunya News.Younus Khan met Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt at his residence. Ijaz Butt tried to convince Younus to withdraw his resignation upon which Younus put before condition of making him captain till 2011. Younus opined that he wished to become a powerful captain who would not like any interference in the team issues. He vowed to take responsibility of any consequences, good or bad, upon being empowered. The resigned captain urged the management to reduce its intervention in his decisions. Board seems to be under extreme pressure to accept his demands and its highly likely that Younus Khans resignation would not be accepted in the meeting of Governing Board of PCB on October 19 in Lahore.
