Substandard food kills one in Lahore

A labourer died while 35 others fell unconscious after consuming sub-standard food at a factory canteen at Raiwand, Lahore on Friday. As per reports, some 30 workers of a bed sheet factory, located at Raiwand Industrial Area, fainted after consuming edibles from the canteen. Eyewitnesses said that the labourers ate their lunch as usually but late fell unconscious. They were later shifted to Jinnah hospital where one of them died. The deceased belonged to Chakwal. Jinnah Hospital administration barred media from entering the hospital.
