A jirga held in Jacobabad settled a dispute between bandits and police by imposing huge fines on police. The jirga fixed Rs 1.9 million for the murder of a the bandit Darvesh. Police authorities have decided to deduct Rs 2000 from salaries of each employee in the district of Jacobabad to accumulate the money.According to details, Police murdered a famous outlaw Darvesh Jhakrani along with his partner in the percents of Jacobabad Police station limits. The bandits in response gunned down head constable Kora Khan in front of Police Head Quarter.According to sources, the jirga presided over by the father of Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Raja Abdul Rahim Khosa. The jirga was attended by hundreds of tribesmen. The jirga concluded that two bandits were killed while only one policeman was killed so police would pay Rs 1.9 million for the killing of the bandit. The verdict of jirga was accepted by both parties including the relatives of the outlaw Darvesh Jhakrani and Inspector Noor-ud-Din. The DPO Jacobabad acknowledged that a jirga did take place in the area however he claimed that Noor-ud-Dins relative attended the jirga. DPO added that the jirga has nothing to do with the police department. He also informed that the deductions have been made to pay compensatory amount to the widow of the martyred police officer.
