Summary Epidemic of measles has erupted in Fata and Balochistan, affecting hundreds of children.
The provinces have sought the federal government’s help for provision of vaccine to cope with the challenge.Hundreds of children have fallen victim to this disease so far.Medical experts have expressed concern that if timely measures were not taken in this regard, the disease may prove fatal.A special meeting of Polio National Staring Committee was held in Islamabad in this connection where Federal Minister Mir Hazar Khan has directed to launch a special campaign for survival of the affected children.He also assured the provincial representatives that provision of vaccine would commence after June 30 without any delay.
