Summary PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan called for meaningful dialogue with the government, urging an end to restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has called for meaningful negotiations with the government, saying dialogue is the only way to resolve political issues.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Gohar said political disputes could be resolved through negotiations and stressed that the government and opposition should engage in meaningful talks.

He said political opponents were taking undue advantage of the situation under the pretext of emergency and governor’s rule. He added that all details regarding the possibility of emergency and governor’s rule would be presented at a parliamentary meeting attended by senators and members of parliament.

Gohar also called for an immediate end to restrictions on meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, saying the ban on such meetings had continued for 375 days.

He described keeping Imran Khan in jail without allowing him to meet his family as inhumane treatment, adding that regular meetings with the PTI founder could have helped improve the situation.

The PTI chairman said restrictions on meetings had complicated political matters, while political tensions and what he described as political victimisation continued to increase.
