President signs summary of dissolving local bodies

President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the summary of dissolving local bodies and forwarded it to the Ministry of Law. PM Yousaf Raza Gillani had moved the summary to the president for the final approval after announcing the handing over of local bodies to the provinces. Earlier, according to the local bodies constitution the local government system was under federation and couldnt be amended without the presidential approval. After the presidents approval, the provincial governments would decide on whether they wanted to appoint administrator at their place or not. A discussion session in this regard would be held at the Ministry of Law today in which provincial law and local bodies ministers would participate.
