ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended their greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), calling for the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to be reflected in individual and collective life.
In his message, President Zardari said Muslims, as followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), had a responsibility to promote justice, tolerance, interfaith and sectarian harmony, and respect for human dignity in society.
He urged the younger generation to draw guidance from the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and make knowledge, high moral character, hard work and service to humanity the guiding principles of their lives.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provided a comprehensive guide for the religious and worldly wellbeing and success of Muslims.
He said the blessed personality of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) represented the finest embodiment of the teachings of Islam.
The prime minister called upon the nation to renew its commitment to incorporating the Seerat-e-Tayyaba into their character, individual conduct and collective behaviour.
He also urged citizens to play their role in transforming Pakistan into a strong, prosperous, peaceful and welfare-oriented state.
