The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has summoned General Pervez Musharraf to the court on July 29. The court said that the former president should be given a chance to defend his steps taken on November 03. On the other hand, Attorney General maintained that the government would not come to Musharrafs defense. A 14-member Bench headed by CJP is hearing the case about restoration of former judges Zafar Ahmad Khan Shirwani and Abdur Rashid kalhora. CJP said that Musharraf should be given a chance to defend him or the people could raise fingers on the courts justice. Sindh High Court Bars lawyer Hamid Khan gave arguments. CJP quoting the past cases asked Hamid Khan to tell the court whether the then chief of army staff was a party in Asma Jillani case. Khan replied that former president Yahya Khan had appeared before court in Asma Jillani case. Giving remarks on PCO, CJP said that court decision played significant role in nations lives. He said that whatever the decision came, it would be after proper contemplation. Khan said that Iqbal Tika was brought to Supreme Court to validate the November 03 steps in Taka Khan Case, adding that it could not be revealed that who he was and where he came from.
