ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the withdrawal of fuel conservation and additional austerity measures, resulting in the repeal of several measures that had been implemented after March 9, 2026.
According to sources, the government has lifted most energy conservation-related restrictions, although decisions regarding the operating hours of markets and commercial centers will remain in effect.
Under the notification, shops, markets, and shopping malls will close at 9:00 p.m., while wedding halls and marquees will be permitted to remain open until 10:00 p.m.
Similarly, restaurants, cafés, and food outlets will close at 11:00 p.m.; however, takeaway and home delivery services will be exempt from the restriction.
Sources said that pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, and medical stores will not be subject to operating-hour restrictions.

Petrol pumps, CNG stations, and EV charging stations will also be exempt.
According to the notification, IT companies, call centers, gyms, and sports facilities have likewise been exempted from the prescribed closing hours.
Sources added that the market timing notifications issued on June 3 and June 10 will remain in force, while austerity measures implemented prior to March 9, 2026, will continue to apply.
