Federal Government has opposed the November 03, 2007 steps taken by the then government. Attorney General of Pakistan said that the government would never support the dictatorial actions. On the other hand, CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has said that if the government nullifies November 03 actions, all the legal amendments done after that would stand suspended. CJP was hearing the petition regarding PCO Judges appointment and November 03 steps along with a larger bench. Giving his remarks, CJP said that the rule of law would prevail in the country. He said that the nation had suffered a lot and now was the time to negate all those steps that were against the nations interests. He said that February 18 elections were held under the constitution not the PCO. He directed the AGP to submit a detailed written stance of the government on this issue. Justice Khalilur Rehmad Ramday said that 2million people had displaced during Swat Operation. He said that no emergency was enforced during Swat Operation so what was the need of imposing emergency on November 03, 2007. CJP said that government had no expectation of any favor from the judges in the General Musharrafs presidential eligibility case so enforced emergency. CJP adjourned the hearing saying the final decision in the case would come by Friday.
