Rehabilitation works in Karachi continue following fierce rains

The clearance work for drainage of water accumulated on roads after the fierce downpours in Karachi, is in progress. The electricity has been restore din most of the areas in the city. The death toll of killed has reached to 28. The drizzling in Karachi still continues with short intervals. The maximum rain was recorded at the Masroor Air Base (205 millimeters) and Karachi Airport (143 millimeters). The traffic jam was witnessed on the main city roads in the morning however later the city district government and traffic police officials cleared the roads for traffic. The downpour has also caused suspension of various transportation means. Staff of various airlines could not reach airport, causing delays to departure of various domestic flights and cancelling many of them. On the other hand, most trains arriving in Karachi got late causing misery for the passengers.
