Information Minister Attaullah Tarar says dozens of Afghan Taliban militants were killed in overnight operations across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, has released fresh details regarding the ongoing military campaign, codenamed Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, against Afghan Taliban elements allegedly involved in cross-border attacks.
Addressing the media, Tarar said Afghan Taliban fighters launched coordinated ground assaults at 16 locations across the northern districts of Balochistan, including Qila Saifullah, Nushki and Chaman. He further claimed that militants carried out firing raids at 25 separate points targeting Pakistani security forces in the province.
According to the minister, all attempted attacks in Balochistan were effectively repelled by Pakistani forces.
He stated that 27 Afghan Taliban operatives were killed and several others injured during engagements in the province. One soldier from the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North was killed in action, while five others sustained injuries while defending their posts.
Pakistan to continue Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq until Afghan Taliban's terror support
Tarar added that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, militants attempted a ground assault at one location and conducted firing raids at 12 additional points.
He said these attempts were foiled without any casualties among security personnel. However, during overnight retaliatory operations in the province, 40 Afghan Taliban fighters were reportedly killed.
The information minister noted that follow-up operations remain under way and that a comprehensive update would be issued in due course.
Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, as described by officials, forms part of Pakistan’s broader response to what it terms cross-border militant activity. Further independent verification of the casualty figures has not yet been made available.
