ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has emphasised that the NFC Award is the right of all units, and Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan should receive funds under it.

Nawaz Sharif chaired a key PML-N political committee meeting on Azad Kashmir in Islamabad, discussing the region’s political situation, upcoming elections, and party organization. Leaders from Azad Kashmir, led by Shah Ghulam Qadir, and from Gilgit-Baltistan, including Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, attended along with party figures like Rana Sanaullah, Maryam Aurangzeb, Ahsan Iqbal, and others.

During the meeting, Shah Ghulam Qadir briefed Nawaz Sharif on Azad Kashmir’s current government and electoral plans. Nawaz Sharif announced a two-day visit to Azad Kashmir next month to finalize organizational, electoral, and public outreach strategies.

He assured that he would raise the issue of including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the NFC Award with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasizing transparency and equitable development.

Nawaz Sharif also praised Punjab’s governance, citing mega projects, improved roads, and initiatives for farmers, highlighting it as a model of rapid development.
