Pakistan celebrates the Independence Day with traditional zeal
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The world leaders on Thursday congratulated Pakistan on its 78th Independence Day while highlighting the diplomatic ties.
Pakistan is celebrating its Independence Day today (Thursday) with traditional zeal and enthusiasm and with renewed resolve to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the country a true Islamic welfare state.
The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial headquarters. Special prayers were offered for security and progress of Pakistan and well-being of the people.
As the day began, the countries including United States, China, Russia, France, Afghanistan, Turkiye and European Union congratulated Pakistan on its Independence Day.
UNITED STATES
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has extended felicitations on Independence Day of Pakistan.
In a message, Rubio appreciated Islamabad’s engagement on counterterrorism and trade. He also reiterated President Donald Trump’s intention to explore “new areas of economic cooperation in critical minerals and hydrocarbons” between the two countries.

“On behalf of the United States, I extend our warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan as they celebrate their Independence Day on August 14,” Rubio added.
The remarks from the top US diplomat came amid strengthening ties between Pakistan and the US.
CHINA
The Chinese embassy in Pakistan extended its wishes to Pakistan on its Independence Day.

In a post on X, the embassy said: “Warmest congratulations to the government and people of Pakistan on celebrating its Independence Day,” read the embassy’s statement. “May Pakistan continue to prosper, and may the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan grow ever stronger. Chin–Pak Dosti Zindabad!”
RUSSIA
Conveying its greetings, the Russian embassy in Pakistan said: “In its 78 years of independence, Pakistan has made significant progress in many areas, strengthened its position in the international community, and contributed to space exploration.”
Nation celebrates 78th Independence Day with patriotic zeal
“Despite numerous challenges, Pakistan remains faithful to the traditional values and principles established by its founding fathers, Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The people of Pakistan can rightly be proud of their country. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish our Pakistani friends success, prosperity, and well-being! Youm-e-Azadi Mubarak,” said the embassy’s statement.
TURKIYE
The brotherly country Turkiye also greeted Pakistan on its Independency Day.

In a post on X, Turkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Congratulations to friendly and brotherly Pakistan on its Day of Independence! Pakistan Zindabad!”
AZERBAIJAN
Extending its heartfelt felicitation on the occasion, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Our most sincere and heartfelt congratulations to brotherly people and the government of Pakistan on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan! Long Live Pakistan! Happy Independence Day!”
AFGHANISTAN
Meanwhile, the embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad, in a Facebook post, conveyed its “sincere congratulation to the Government and the people of Pakistan on the occasion”.
“We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two nations, and to working together towards our shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region,” the embassy’s statement added.
EUROPEAN UNION
The European Union in a post on X said the EU Ambassador to the country, Riina Kionka, extended heartfelt wishes to Pakistan.
“Together, we celebrate friendship and unity — because we are stronger together,” the post added.
