Forced evictions, delayed visas, and utility cut-offs spark diplomatic protest
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Tensions have flared once again following India's harassment of Pakistani diplomats stationed in New Delhi, in what officials are calling a serious breach of diplomatic norms and international law.
According to reliable sources, Pakistani diplomats and their families in New Delhi are facing a growing list of hardships. These include deliberate delays in visa processing – with up to 4–5 months of wait time in some cases for as many as 17 visa applications – as well as forced evictions from their official residences.
The harassment has extended to the cutting off of basic utilities, such as water supply and newspaper delivery, worsening daily life for the diplomatic staff and their families.
In response, Pakistan has officially raised the matter with the Indian government, labeling these actions a grave violation of the Vienna Convention, which guarantees the rights and protections of diplomatic personnel.
The Foreign Office of Pakistan issued a strong statement, asserting that violations of diplomatic protocols and international laws will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

These developments are expected to further strain already fragile bilateral ties between the two countries, which have long been marred by mutual distrust and periodic diplomatic flashpoints.
