Summary

Even though the centigrade scale has dropped considerably but the load-shedding schedule is still intact. Urban areas are still experiencing 10 hours of no electricity where as rural areas have to suffer with another 4 hours. According to Lesco, Islamabad and Rawalpindi still face a shortage of 131MW due to which the total duration of load-shedding in these areas has increased by 2 hours. Urban areas of Pedhawar currently face 12 hours of power cut where as the rural areas face up to 16 hours straight. Many areas also face a subsequent shortage in water due to this problem. According to PEPCO, the overall situation would drastically improve once the Mangla power house starts generating electricity.
