Supreme Court constitutes bench to hear proposed constitutional amendment

CJP Isa led bench will hear petition on October 17
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court constituted a three-member bench to hear the petition against the proposed constitutional amendment.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa led bench comprising two other judges including Justice Naeem Afghan and Justice Shahid Bilal will hear the petition on October 17.
Abid Zubairi's advocate had filed a constitutional petition in the court.
The Registrar's office issued notices to Zubairi advocate.
According to the new amendment, other than a constitutional court, there would be provincial constitutional courts comprising of the Chief Justice, provincial law minister and representative of the bar council.
It is to be recalled that earlier, the petition was returned with objections by the registrar's office.
