Driver fined over Rs50,000 in Lahore for 108 traffic violations

LAHORE (Web Desk) - The traffic authorities have intensified their efforts to address the repeat traffic violations in Lahore.

A vehicle was penalised with more than Rs50,000 for 108 violations under the city’s e-challan system.

The vehicle was stopped on Mall Road by warden Mohsin Abbas.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar emphasised the need for drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, particularly given the increased monitoring measures in place.

The vehicle, stopped on Mall Road, was found to have violated traffic signals 80 times, lane rules 19 times, and failed to wear a seatbelt on nine occasions.

CTO noted that individuals with outstanding e-challans would be barred from accessing various police services, including obtaining driving licenses, character certificates, and verifications.

Meanwhile, the authorities have launched a crackdown against the tampering of vehicle number plates.
