ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A social media policy has been established for the federal police following directives from the Establishment Division.

According to the notification, no police officer and personnel would express opinions or write articles for media without prior departmental approval.

The policy prohibited the police officers and personnel from making videos or taking photographs in police uniforms, official vehicles, and government buildings for personal promotion.

Additionally, they were forbidden from uploading any secrets, official matters, or other sensitive content on social media.

Federal police officers and personnel were also restricted from expressing their political and religious views in the media. The Public Relations Officer from the IG office was declared the sole channel for communicating police activities.

Any officer or personnel wishing to communicate with the media must obtain permission through the DIG or the Public Relations Officer at the IG office.

Officers of relevant units in the federal police would be held responsible for their subordinates, and strict departmental action would be taken in case of violations.
