Ismail Haniyeh's funeral prayers in absentia held

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The funeral prayers in absentia were offered for martyred Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Mall Road.
Jamat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Muhammad Idrees led the funeral prayers. Citizens from across all walks of life participated in the prayers.
Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political wing, was martyred in an assassination attack in Tehran. Both, Iranian security officials and Hamas, confirmed the martyrdom. It is claimed that Shaheed Ismail Haniyeh was targeted by Jewish agents.

The Iranian news agency said Ismail Haniyeh was in Tehran to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Iranian president.
Iranian officials say that Ismail Haniyeh was targeted at his residence in Tehran on Wednesday early morning. It is also reported that Ismail Haniyeh's security guard was also martyred in the attack.
