Anti-people officers should be suspended, says prime minister
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed to take stern action against the officials involved in the overbilling of electricity bills.
He was chairing a meeting in this regard in Islamabad on Saturday.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Legahri and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
“Such anti-people officers should be suspended and stern action must be taken against them,” said the prime minister.
The prime minister also directed the Federal Investigation Agency to identify such officials involved in the overbilling.

The prime minister said that such a criminal act will not be tolerated at any cost.
Earlier, FIA also launched an inquiry into overbilling of electricity bills.
The agency’s anti-corruption circle started the inquiry and asked for the Lesco’s high-ups to appear with full details about the matter.
Sources revealed that the protected consumers were overbilled which changed their category and a burden of million or rupees fell on them.
The FIA said that the notices have also been issued to Director Customer Services Lesco and Director General IT and they been asked to appear with complete record.
