CHUNIAN (Dunya News) – Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, who embraced martyrdom in improvised explosive device explosion in Lakki Marwat, was laid to rest with full military honours in his native village Chunian on Monday morning.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the serving military officers and a large number of people attended the last rites of the martyred captain.

Later, the martyr was laid to rest, with a salute from the army troops. A bouquet was also placed on his grave.

After the burial, PM Shehbaz met the bereaved family members of Captain Faraz Ilyas and expressed his condolences.

He said that the martyr had secured a place in heaven for his entire family.

He said that the sacrifices made by those who laid down their lives for the country could not be forgotten.

The premier also named the Chunian village after Captain Faraz Ilyas and declared plans to transform the village into a model village.
