One killed in PPP-MQM-P workers' clash in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – One person was killed and another was wounded in clash between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) workers during election campaign for February 8 general election in Karachi on Sunday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the incident occurred in Nazimabad No 2 areas where the PPP workers resorted to aerial firing during MQM-P rally due to which one MQM-P worker died and another was wounded.
The dead and injured were later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Meanwhile, angry MQM-P workers torched 10 vehicles after the incident. A heavy contingent of police and Rangers reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Speaking to media, member of the MQM-P Rabita Committee Taha Siddiqui said that the armed persons belonging to the PPP opened fire at our rally in Nazimabad No 2 area due to which one MQM-P worker, identified as Faraz, died and another was wounded
He warned that the PPP cannot control the city by resorting to terrorism. He also informed that the deceased was sector in charge of the area.
