What is Islamabad police 'Knock the Door' campaign?

Pakistan

Answer: the campaign is aimed at registering domestic employees and tenants

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Islamabad Capital Police are executing the ‘Knock the Door’ campaign aimed at registering employees and tenants.

The teams of police are visiting door to door for this purpose.

A spokesperson for the police department said teams were actively canvassing neighbourhoods and going door-to-door to ensure the registration of both tenants and domestic workers.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Islamabad has already registered data of 178 house servants across 592 houses within the Sumbal police station’s jurisdiction during the last 24 hours.

The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure better law and order in the federal capital.

Registering tenants and domestic workers not only enables better monitoring of potential wrongdoers but also deters those with malicious intent.

The rationale behind this initiative is to minimise the risk posed by unregistered employees and tenants, who might engage in serious criminal activities such as theft and robbery while posing as ordinary citizens.

The ICT police are committed to utilising all available resources to create a secure environment for the capital’s residents.
