Says condition of country will improve only with supremacy of Constitution and law

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar said he would not be a part of any unconstitutional process and everyone should be held accountable.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, the caretaker chief minister said Allah had given him the opportunity for a short period of time.

“I will try to come up to the expectations of the leadership,” he said, adding that the condition of the country would improve only with the supremacy of the Constitution and the law.

“It is the work of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to give a date and hold the elections. It should be done in good faith,” the caretaker CM said.

Baqar said there should be a thorough investigation into the regrettable incident of death of the girl in Ranipur. He also condemned the Jaranwala incident.

The caretaker CM said he could not interfere in the affairs of the ECP, adding that “our job is to support the commission and reshuffle bureaucracy wherever necessary.”
