PM will send summary for NA dissolution to President Alvi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has sent the summary for dissolution of the National Assembly to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to sources, the prime minister will send the summary regarding dissolution of the assembly to President Dr Arif Alvi. The date box has been left blank.
The date and time of dissolution of the assembly will be decided by the prime minister.
Meanwhile, the coalition partners are making consultations on names for the caretaker government. The announcement of a name for the caretaker prime minister is expected today.
The MQM has proposed the name of Kamran Tessori for the caretaker prime minister, while the National Party has proposed name of retired Justice Shakeel Baloch for the coveted slot.

On the other hand, names of Hafeez Sheikh, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and retired Justice Maqbool Baqir are also being considered. The names of Fawad Hasan Fawad, Zulfiqar Magsi, Mohsin Naqvi and Dr Ishratul Ebad are also under consideration for the caretaker PM.
Opposition leader Raja Riaz's stance
Opposition leader Raja Riaz said he would hold consultations with the prime minister on the name of the caretaker prime minister. He will share three names with Shehbaz Sharif on behalf of the opposition. He said he had completed the consultation process with his colleagues.

Meanwhile, speaking at a convention centre event on solar tubewells on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he would send a summary for dissolution of the National Assembly to the president today (Wednesday).
The prime minister emphasised the importance of agriculture in bringing prosperity to Pakistan and said it was dependent on affordable electricity.
He lamented the political chaos the country had faced over the past 15 months and acknowledged the role of the IMF programme in stabilising the economy.
"Industry and agriculture cannot develop without cheap electricity. Agriculture is the most important component of economic development. Unfortunately, the country is facing political chaos for long. If there is no IMF programme, the people would have faced difficulties," he said.
The prime minister said when he took over the government, he was facing a situation that was unimaginable.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the need for transitioning to solar power, citing its lower cost and environment-friendly nature.
The PM also mentioned the significant investment in the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project, which will store water and generate 4,000 megawatts of electricity.

PM Sharif attributed the delay in the development of Thar's coal reserves to the negligence of previous governments. Stressing the significance of cheap electricity for the country's progress, he emphasised the importance of the agricultural solar tubewells project and proposed a cost-sharing model between the federation, provinces and farmers.
The prime minister said that why there was such serious negligence by the previous governments, the coal of Thar belonged to our country, and billions of dollars worth of oil was imported, this is negligence, due to which we are asking for loans abroad. One day you will be saved.
For solar tube wells in Islamabad, the PM said the federation will pay two-thirds and farmers will pay one-third. In provinces the federal government will pay one-third, the province will contribute one-third and one-third of the price will be paid by the farmer.
Sharif expressed his desire for Pakistan to fulfill the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and create a country where everyone receives equal treatment, irrespective of their social status. He urged the people to exercise their right to vote and contribute to making Pakistan great.
