SIFC’s apex committee approves projects to attract foreign investment
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A meeting of the apex committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The investment projects of the Gulf countries and China were discussed in the meeting. The apex committee gave approval to several projects for attracting investments from friendly countries in agriculture, livestock, mining, IT and energy sectors.
To continue the positive drive under the SIFC initiative, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers participated in the third apex committee meeting of SIFC.
In the meeting, the participants were told that after China, a high-level delegation of Saudi Arabia was also ready to visit Pakistan, upon which the prime minister directed full preparations for the arrival of the Saudi Arabian delegation.
The prime minister valued SIFC’s real work through rapid operationalisation and collaboration in a short span of time.
The committee lauded the global impact of the ongoing outreach strategy through the inauguration of seminars and projects.
The PM said through the soon-to-be-launched SIFC website, its scope would be expanded. The committee gave approved the projects submitted by the ministries to attract investment.
The apex committee expressed all support for the successful conduct of the upcoming visit of the high-level delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan through the SIFC platform.
The prime minister directed the concerned authorities to make the inaugural visit an important event.
The committee reiterated its commitment to continued support of the SIFC initiative and urged the interim government to sustain the movement for a positive partnership.
