CM Naqvi, Dar perform ghusl at Data Darbar

LAHORE(Dunya News) - The 980th washing ceremony (ghusl) of the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri Data Ganj Bakhsh took place in Lahore.

Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi were present on the occassion.

The shrine was washed with 50 maunds of rose water in a simple yet dignified ceremony.

Both Ishaq Dar and Mohsin Naqvi presented a floral wreath on the shrine and offered prayers for stability and development of the country.

They also laid the foundation stone of the Data Darbar expansion project.

Ishaq Dar expressed his congratulations and believed that this achievement would be recorded as a significant milestone.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasised the importance of the teachings of Hazrat Data Ali Hajveri and how the Muslim Ummah pays homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala during Muharram. He also announced the launch of an online donation app for the convenience of citizens and assured confirmation messages for online donors.

The ceremony was attended by various officials, including the minister, the secretary and others.

The Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh will commence on 18 Safar, following 40 days after the bathing ceremony.
