Siddiqui vows to serve country in his individual capacity
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi President Aftab Siddiqui decided on Sunday to leave the party and politics following the May 9 mayhem.
In a video statement, Mr Siddiqui said, "I have decided to retire from politics, hence resigning as president and MNA of PTI Karachi".
"I will continue to serve my country by working for the betterment of people in my individual capacity, and contributing to the economy as a businessman," he maintained.
Earlier today, former MNA Usman Khan Tarakai became the latest name to quit the party.
Speaking to media, Mr Tarakai said, "We strongly condemn the terrorism committed by the party on May 9".
