Better to die than switch loyalty, says Ali Amin Gandapur
Pakistan
Imran Khan not only my leader but my passion
DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday said it would be better embracing death than switching loyalty.
His statement comes as some prominent PTI leaders jump ships citing May 9 attacks on "security installations" including the Lahore’s Corps Commander's House and the General Headquarters (GHQ) as reason, with others being pushed to explain their association with the party.
He said he would not bow down to pressure, adding that difficult times revealed real men. “A well thought out rumour is being spread about me quitting the party,” he added.
“Imran Khan is not only my leader but my passion,” he said.
Mr Gandapur went on to say that the government should announce elections, adding that it was rejecting the public power [by not announcing elections].
Earlier, Mr Gandapur had been released from Sukkur’s central jail. He walked free after an Additional Sessions judge had extended his protective bail plea.
A fortnight ago, an anti-terrorism court in Sargodha cleared Mr Gandapur of terrorism charges, removing sections of terror law in a case registered against him. Moreover, a sessions court in Bhakkar had also granted him bail in the checkpost attack case against surety bonds worth Rs50,000.
