Summary CPPA seeks an increase of Rs 3.06 per unit in electricity tariff for the month of August.

The Central Power Purchase Agency filled an application to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority in a bid to increase electricity tariff by Rs 3.06 per unit.The Central Power Purchase Agency maintained in its application that during the month of August electricity was generated through furnace oil and diesel that enhanced the production cost.The application says that unavailability of fuel exceeded the capacity charges to 50%.According to NEPRA, the Central Power Purchase Agency filed the application to increase the electricity tariff for the month of August.
