Pakistan

If they still fail to appear, bail dismissal will be sought

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and four other PTI leaders were issued a third order of summons on Wednesday by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the case of arson and vandalism by PTI workers outside Mr Khan's Zaman Park residence.

The leaders were summoned on April 14, after they had failed to appear before the team twice.

Alongside Mr Khan, Fawad Chaudhary, Hammad Azhar, Farrukh Habib, and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema were also ordered to appear before the JIT. According to police sources, if the accused still failed to appear, bail dismissal would be sought.

This case stems from an incident of arson and vandalism by PTI workers, which resulted in damage to public property. The JIT was formed to investigate the incident and determine the role of PTI leaders and workers in the incident.

The summons to the PTI leaders were issued after two previous summons went unanswered, indicating a lack of cooperation from the accused.
