Political, economic stability not possible without transparent elections: Asad Qaiser

Asad Qaiser held a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan chief Maulana Muhammad Sherani.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Tuesday said that political and economic stability in the country is not possible without transparent elections, Dunya News reported.

This he stated during a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (JUIP) chief Maulana Muhammad Sherani. Asad Qaiser conveyed the message of PTI chairman Imran Khan to Maulana Sherani during the meeting.

Members of National Assembly Sahibzada Sibghatullah and Malik Anwar Taj were also present in the meeting.

Maulana Muhammad Sherani congratulated PTI on the decision of the Supreme Court in regard to election delay case. Asad Qaiser said that the decision of the Supreme Court is a victory of truth. He said that holding election in 90 days after dissolution of assembly is a constitutional obligation.

Asad Qaiser further said that the political and economic stability in the country is not possible without holding free and transparent elections. In the changing situation of the region, stability and peace in Pakistan is very important. Maulana Sherani said that he will meet with Imran Khan soon and announce a joint plan of action.
