Pak’s constitution guarantees religious freedom to all, says Mufti Abdul Shakoor
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor said on Tuesday the constitution of Pakistan provides religious liberty of all kinds and therefore all religions should respect each other’s views.
Addressing a seminar concerning the forced conversions, he said everyone is entitled to his views and Islam does not allow the use of force to pressurize other individual to change religion.
He said the extremist tendancies should not be followed so that the society does not see division and schism, while mentioning Islam support a broader message of humanity and therefore all human beings are equal.
Talking about the Hajj, he said he recently visited the Hajj expo in Makka and discussed in detail the upcoming Hajj with the Saudi Arabian officials while expressing his commitment to increase the facilities in the event and also decreasing its cost.
He said the government was talking with airlines for a new Hajj package and the new policy would be announced after the package.
