'Abducted' friend of Moonis Elahi returns home after four days
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A close friend of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi returned homes days after he was allegedly abducted from Garden Town area of Lahore.
Last week, Mr Elahi revealed in a tweet that his friend, Ahmed Faran, was picked up by some unknown people riding two black vehicles in Lahore. The PML-Q leader said the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had denied arresting him.
“After a few days, he would be shifted to the FIA and forced to register a case,” he wrote while suspecting that such acts were being taken to pressurise the PML-Q to join hands with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Taking notice of the incident, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had ordered the CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar to ensure the immediate recovery of Moonis Elahi s friend.
In latest development, Ahmed Faran returned to his home last late night. His brother, Zaheer, has confirmed his safe return, stating that Mr Ahmed was dropped outside the home by unknown men on two vehicles.
Meanwhile, the LHC on Wednesday discharged a case against the alleged abduction of Ahmed Faran after he was produced in court. The CCPO Lahore also attended the hearing.
