CM Elahi vows to grant ownership rights for slum dwellers
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Friday decided to provide property rights to the slum dwellers.
The decision to grant ownership rights to the slum dwellers was authorised by the Punjab CM while making a significant statement.
On this occasion, he sought final advice from the Board of Revenue regarding the granting of ownership rights and said that action should be taken to grant ownership rights to slum inhabitants, who will receive ownership rights for up to 10-marla land. Everything should be resolved soon, he added.
The information about Punjab’s slums was asked by Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, who then gave the order to send the information to the Chief Minister’s Office.
CM Elahi went on to say that in order to restore the original owners of the rights who currently reside in the slums, a plan should be developed for the provision of basic amenities.
