LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to form a special team to investigate the violence against the PTI leaders and workers on May 25. The Punjab government will issue a notification in this regard next week, Dunya News reported on Monday.
The party has decided to take action against those responsible on the issue of violence against PTI leaders and workers during the long march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf on May 25.
A high-level meeting was held in the Punjab Chief Minister s House under the chairmanship of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary. Sabtain Khan, Hashim Dogar, Ejaz Chaudhary, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and others participated in the meeting. The leadership approved important decisions.
It has decided in the meeting to form a special team of the Punjab government to investigate the incidents of violence on May 25 and notices will also be issued to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Special Assistant Attaullah Tarar.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the Punjab government will issue the notification of formation of the special investigation team regarding May 25 next week. The special investigation team will identify the police officers involved in the violence and submit a report within a week, he added.
Meanwhile Punjab Home Minister Hashim Dogar has warned in a tweet that those who do not appear before the investigation team will be arrested.
In the meeting, it was also decided to investigate the actions of former Deputy Speaker Punjab Dost Mazari. Speaker Sabtain Khan will form a committee in this regard.
